Getting on a real working person schedule also means getting my life together. Not that I’m using this as a real 10K training plan, but it’s a way to keep me on track. SOMETHING’s gotta do it.
I’m actually really excited to recalibrate my body to function as a normal healthy person again. I’ve been perpetually stuck in second-semester stress mode since… February. Hello, 20 extra pounds I don’t want. Doesn’t make me feel good, doesn’t make me look good, and I really have to just start it and stick with it if I want to create any positive effect whatsoever.
No excuses, right?

The middle three I think are especially poignant, because I think when images of destruction, violence, and death are seen in black and white, there’s a sort of unreality about them…a tendency to see them as history, the stuff of textbooks, and not as real things that really happened.
