See Heather Run: DC meet up →
easybeinggreene: The 3rd it is! Where are we meeting? notovernight: Well I don’t want you to miss the REI attic sale again if you don’t have to.  And the likeliness of Adria actually letting me buy a bike is probably really really small.  SO, lets just do the 3rd since it seems best for the most people.. Right? easybeinggreene: rachelreportslife: notovernight: notovernight: Dear DC...

A tale of running NSVs
I started this weekend excursion to Philly out right: by leaving my gym bag at the office. In typical me fashion, I realized I had one less bag after I was on the bus. If both the boy and I didn’t like the gym so much, it wouldn’t be a big deal, but there I was: no Asics, no sports bra, no compression shorts. Good job, Rachel. I figured it wouldn’t be a big deal, that I could...

See Heather Run: DC meet up →
notovernight: notovernight: Dear DC Fitlbrs, Did we decide on March 3rd or 4th for March’s meetup? I ask because uh this maybe happening on March 3rd http://phoenixbikes.org/ It is their big bike sale. Dear Adria, I love you, maybe if I find a really good deal on a road bike I will sell my… It doesn’t have to be next weekend… The only weekend I am 100% out of is the 17th 18th, but I am...

Let it be known
February 23, 2012 is the most beautiful day in the history of days. It’s like the weather has taken a running leap at me and started screaming to go for a run. PHYSICS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN CHEM WHY AM I IN A CHEM-BASED CLASS But really, I don’t understand anything that’s going on. Can I have a prof who A) isn’t a grad student and B) isn’t from SCANDINAVIA? ...

Capital Bikeshare may expand to Mall →
This spring, Capital Bikeshare might become the latest attraction on the Mall. The National Capital Planning Commission will vote March 1 on expanding the popular regional cycling network to include five new bike stations from the Smithsonian Metro station to near the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. If approved, one or two stations of familiar red bicycles will be available by the...

So much Monday
Morning-after runner’s highs are the best. Except when you’re sitting in Drugs & Behavior and can’t concentrate because you’re buzzing too hard. Anyone know what I mean? But really, why do I come to this class? He may be the least interesting, most awful explainer of pharmacokinetics and cell function and whatever else we’re learning. #ughgradstudents...

5 miles, ~48:00
Slow, strong quality time with the treadmill. Wasn’t looking to break any world records tonight - just wanted to run and have it feel good, and it did. I think it’s the farthest I’ve gone since Jerusalem 10K, which is a little way more than pathetic, and I definitely felt good enough to run another few miles! I’m feeling a big PR for the St. Patrick’s Day 8K....

Dear Do Life IRL,
I wanted to run with you ladies so much this morning! I woke up and got dressed and everything! And then, alas, the universe stepped in and I realized I couldn’t get down to Metro Center :( Can I persuade Tumblr people to hang out IRL soon, though?! Doesn’t have to be for a run, even?

See the share of Americans’ income that comes from government benefit programs like Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, veterans’ benefits and food stamps. So interesting! Also, Arizona, what’s up with the shape of your counties?

I need to leave my room today. Homework says no.
Things that are good: Finally getting my whiteboard/calendar up on the wall Things that are bad: Now having my to-do list perpetually staring at me, all ~450 pages of reading of it Um, remind me why we do this “college” thing, exactly?

One of those long weight loss posts only fitblrs...
Last night at dinner, a friend of mine commented that she hadn’t seen me on Tumblr much lately. I am all too aware of that, and though I could complain about how busy I am forever, it’s more than that. I went to Israel, life got hard to do correctly, and I gave up. Because this is how it goes: when weight loss is good, it’s great. You eat the right amount of food, you eat the...

Not Over Night: DC unofficial DO LIFE Meetup x2?? →
emilydoesscience: runheatherrun: I wanna come but the only day I’m available is the 12th. So I understand if another day is better for everyone else. But, later on when it’s warmer, I’d be happy to pick some people up at the metro and carpool to Burke Lake (my favorite)… Maybe I’ll even invite everyone over to my apt afterwards for a delicious slow cooker breakfast dish! :) Baller. Vandals attacked an under-construction mosque in Chantilly over the weekend, causing extensive damage, authorities said. All of the mosque’s first-level windows and door glass were shattered by thrown rocks, causing about $60,000 in damages, according to Usman Ghumman, general secretary for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Mosque. I just realized
that yesterday in Legal Aspects of Comm, my fun fact about myself was that I’m training for a half-marathon for my birthday. That’s odd. I’m not quite sure why I said it with such conviction, since I am no longer able to run the half on April 1, nor have I actually started training for one yet despite the daily mileage reminders sent by my Google calendar. But it’s...
